Michael Matthews has over 30 years experience in public health, health information technology, care management, healthcare administration and research and evaluation. Mr Matthews received his B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Public Health from the University of North Carolina. Mr Matthews' accomplishments include serving as: Principle Investigator of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) funded Rural Virginia eHealth Collaborative (RVEC); Principle Investor for CenVaNet's Medicare Care Coordination Demonstration (MCCD) project with CMS; and Project Executive for MedVirginia's participation in the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN). MedVirginia was the first HIE to go into production on the NHIN, in partnership with the SSA and Mr Matthews serves as Chair of NHIN Coordinating Committee. Governor Timothy M.Kaine selected Mr. Matthews for the role of Senior Advisor Commission. In January 2010, Mr Matthews received the prestigious "eHealth Advocate of the Year Award" from eHealth Initiative, the nation's leading HIE industry association.

Aaron McKethan M.D., Beacon Program Director, Office of the National Coordinator


Aaron McKethan PhD currently serves as Program Director for the Beacon Communities Program in the Office of the national Coordinator for Health Technology at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Previously, he served as Research Director at the Brookings Institution's Engleberg Center for Health Care Reform, where he managed research and implementation projects focused on health IT, provider payment, quality improvement and delivery system reform at the state and regional level. He also led several projects related to Medicare and Medicaid payment policy, quality improvement demonstrations and national health reform. McKethan was previously a consultant at the Lewin Group, where he focused primarily on state health reform, Medicaid financing issues and delivery system reform. He is currently a health policy lecturer at the Department of Health Policy at the George Washington University Medical Center. He received his PhD in Public Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

David A Stumpf, MD, PhD is a Senior Vice President for Clinical Data Strategy within the Enterprise Services Group of UnitedHealth Group (UHG), a Fortune 25 health and well being company serving 70 million Americans. He works with UHG subsidiary area. Greg Linden is currently the Chief information Officer for Stratis Health. He has been active in Minnesota's ehealth initiative and is currently involved in helping communities move forward with electronic health information exchange. Prior to coming to Stratis Health, Greg was in executive roles with United Health Group, Medtronic and Health Systems Integration. He also worked as IBM for 13 years. He holds a BSEE and an MBA from the University of Minnesota and is a certified Professional in both EHR and HIT (CPEHR and CPHIT). Dr Stasia Kahn has been practicing internal medicine since 1988. She completed her residency at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago after attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Pat Becker is responsible for building and managing information systems and services supporting the program needs of UHC an organization of 107 academic medical centers; she provides leadership and advisory services to member CIOs. Previously, she was employed by University of Chicago Hospitals and Health Systems; in 1993 she was appointed VP of Information Systems and CIO. Ms Becker is a HIMSS fellow and a CCHIT commissioner. She is adjunct professor at Northwestern University in the Masters of Medical Informatics program. J. Marc Overhage MD, CEO President Indiana Health Information Exchange


Dr Overhage is President and CEO of the Indiana Health Information Exchange, Director of Medical Informatics at the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., and a professor of medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
He has spent over 25 years developing and implementing scientific and clinical systems and evaluating their value. Working with Dr. Clement McDonald, one of the pioneers of medical informatics, he has created an electronic patient record (called the Indiana Network for Patient Care) containing data from many sources including laboratories, pharmacies and hospitals in central Indiana. The system currently connects nearly all acute care hospitals in central Indiana and includes inpatient and outpatient encounter data, laboratory results, immunization data and other selected data. In order to create a sustainable financial model, he helped create the Indiana Health Information Exchange, a non for profit corporation. Over the last five years, he has played a significant regional and national leadership role in advancing the policy, standards, financing and implementation of health information exchange.
Dr Overhage is a fellow of the American College of Informatics and the American College of Physicians. He received the Davis Recognition Award for Excellence in Computer Based Patient Recognition for the Regenstief Medical Record System.

Thomas Fritz American Hospital Association Representative at the NeHC and CEO Inland Northwest Health Services


Tom Fritz is chief executive officer of Inland Northwest Health Services (INHS). INHS is a unique company that administers a 102 bed, freestanding physical rehabilitation and medicine hospital; a multi-state critical care air ambulance service; a wide-spread telemedicine hospital; a multi-state critical care air ambulance service; a wide spread telemedicine network throughout the Inland Northwest; and a nationally recognized model of integrated health information technology. Twenty-one of the hospitals on the INHS health information exchange network habe been recognized in 2009 as teh "100 Most Wired" in teh nation by Hospitals and Health Networks magazine.
Nationally, Tom is appointed to serve on the board of directors for the National eHealth Collaborative. Tom previously served on the board of trustees for the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) and as a chairperson of the American Hospital Association Governing Council Section for Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care & Long-Term Acute Hospitals.
On a regional level, Tom is a member of the board of directors of the Washington State health Care Forum; co-chair of the Washington Life Sciences Discovery Fund Coalition; a member of the board of directors for the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association; and a past member of the WA State Health Information Infrastructure Advisory Board. Tom is involved locally and has served on a number of community Boards including chairperson of the Spokane Workforce Development Council; chairperson of the Economic Development Council and vice-chair/board member of the Greater Spokane Incorporated. David Leibowitz CMIO Northwestern University Health System


David Liebovitz is the Chief Medical Information Officer for the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, the full-time academic medical practice of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. Mary McGinnis is the Program Director for the Governor's Office of Health Information Technology at the State of Illinois. She is responsible for managing the State HIE planning grant program for the health information exchange. Mary is responsible for working with a broad group of stakeholders to achieve maximum engagement in health information exchange, addressing privacy and security issues and promoting the Meaningful use of electronic health records to improve the delivery of health care. Monica Arrowsmith is the Director of the Indiana Health Information Technology Extension center, funded by a $12 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant awarded to Purdue University.
